Exeter Regatta 2007

Exmouth 4th best club overall @ Exeter Regatta!! Due to the absence of Chris Long, Marcus Bowyer sat in at bow in the Men\'s Senior C fours. The four got knocked out of their first heat by Exeter, only to go through and win the play-offs and go though to get 2nd place in the final! - Good Result! Jack Pearce put up a good fight against Jamie Lock from Exeter in the J161x heat 1, but was knocked out of the competition. Sam Malloy took on Tom Youd from Exeter in the MSC1x heat 1 but was knocked out and sent through to the Repêchage. His opposition failed to turn up for the play-offs, so it was straight though to the final after a row-through! Sam then placed 2nd in the final beating Matt Isaac from Dartmouth for the first time this season! Brian Odea (Captain of ERC) went against Mike Drew (Boat Captain of ERC) in the Men\'s Vet Handicapped 1x. Mike, the older of the two vets, took the win and left Brian to go for a swim!!!! Marcus Bowyer and Ed Pearce went head to head in the J13 1x, with Marcus taking the win. Shortly after the boys teamed up to race the J14 2x against Dartmouth, but Dartmouth being the older and more experienced crew took the win. Rob and Jack had an easy first heat for the Men\'s Novice 2x, since their opposition didnt turn up and they were granted a row-through! In the final they had a close fought battle against a strong Exeter double and placed 2nd. Rob then swapped Jack for Sam and raced the Men\'s Senior C 2x! After 2 restarts Exmouth took the win against Exeter by roughly 5 lengths. Well done to everyone that took part, hopefully there will be a better representation by ERCs other members at Falmouth Regatta on the 21st of July.
